Zivon: In villians, we see many traits, from melancholic to sadistic joy, and no two antagonists are farther away on the spectrum than what we have today. Also, before we start, Crona does have Ragnarok with him. Shut up! Ragnarok doesn't do shit to boost Crona's abilities and doesn't attack on his own, there's a big difference between that and what Soul does for Maka.
Zivon: Born to the witch Medusa, Crona had an upbringing as harsher than many combatants we've seen. DAM: He was trained from an early age to be a master swordsman, failing to do as she instructed led to him being locked in solitary confinement.
If that wasn't enough for the Child Called It, which he is since no one knows what gender Crona is, his mother melted the demon Ragnarok down and infused it with Crona, permanently linking the two in Crona's blood. Hazzamo: This resulted in Crona's blood also being replaced with black blood. While his skin is vulnerable, he can manually cause it to adjust its density to stop blades and crushing attacks, it even heals him. While hard, it can be punctured with enough force or if he is not expecting an attack.
The blood also makes him violently insane and sadistic. Zivon: When he grew older, Crona was instructed by his mother to go and consume souls, forcing him to start the process of becoming a kishin. However, her attempts were thwarted when Crona met Maka Albarn, who purified his soul and made him sane. With his newfound humanity, he tried to integrate into the Death Weapons Meister Academy and make friends.
DAM: But that fell through when he became a spy for his mother in the Academy, got merged with an immortal demon, and destroyed an entire city called Ukraine with a sphere of black blood. Hazzamo: Crona's main weapon is Ragnarok's demon sword form, a rapier-like blade he uses with tremendous speed and skill.
If it wasn't deadly enough, he can use Screech Resonance, which causes a powerful soundwave blast, which can harm both humans and their Death Weapons, and make the blade vibrate, making it cause even more damage.
He can even create oddly shaped blasted with this or use it to unleash faster, deadlier swings. Zivon: His own blood is also a weapon. At will, black blood can be formed into needles from the ground or air, or even from blades from wounds on his body.
It's even denser than black blood, can make entire cities flood with black blood, and can drive anyone mad just by touching it. DAM: When fused with the Clown, he also gets some badass steel armor on his dress, if only it could give him one hard piece that he seems to be missing in the pants region.
It even gives him extra limbs to fight with, but he's still missing a third leg. Hazzamo: Crona is an absolute monster in combat, he survived being impaled through the chest on a Death Scythe, tanked Dr.
Stein's soul purge blasts and Maka's witch hunt slash, consumed hundreds of souls at once, became a kishin and then sealed the demon Asura for all eternity with himself, obliterated an entire ship with a swing of his blade, destroyed a city, and is near-impervious to damage.
Zivon: While he's impressive, Crona is very frightful, especially of his mother. While black blood is supposed to make him fearless, he is cowardly, especially when bullied by Ragnarok.
Ragnarok himself also causes Crona much strain, stealing his food, hitting him, and just plain bullying him. DAM: We also don't know what the fuck he's packing between his legs. Seriously, I must know! Oh, wait, we should introduce him to Bruce Jenner's doctor and give him that old hag's member!
Hazzamo: Crona's black blood, while impressive, acts only on his will. If he does not perceive danger, it can be useless and attacks will affect him as if he never had black blood. Also, certain Soul Wavelengths can interfere with his black blood, taking away his armor and healing abilities. Zivon: Finally, Crona is completely insane when under black blood, willing to let himself be cut and sliced in all different manners, since he can shrug off most blows.
However, when a blood-crazed Maka attacked, she proved more than powerful enough to match him with her own durability. The most exciting feature of action anime is, of course, the action, and Soul Eater is no exception. When you throw in special abilities and transforming weapons, each fight gets that much more exhilarating.
Here are 10 hot battles from Soul Eater that are sure to get your heart pounding! Maka fights against the mass murderer Jack the Ripper, and as the very first scene of Soul Eaterthis fight gets the viewer's blood pumping right from the start. More importantly, it sets up the context for the rest of the anime.
We learn that Soul is able to transform from a human to a weapon and that Maka is a weapon meister who wields Soul. The two of them are fighting Jack to collect his tainted soul, which is on its way to becoming a Kishin egg. The fighting style of the loud-mouthed, ego-driven Black Star and his accommodating, mild-mannered weapon Tsubaki is introduced in this fight against the bodyguard Mifune, who is guarding the witch Angela.
Although Black Star generally acts like a bit of a hot-headed goofball, after getting knocked around by Mifune, he proves that he can get serious when he needs to. Switching between Tsubaki's several different weapon modes, Black Star shows off all the cool moves that he has in his arsenal. This fight is the precursor to two more matches between Black Star and Mifune.
This battle is Death the Kid's debut in Soul Eater. After many misadventures involving his hatred of all things asymmetrical, he battles a resurrected pharaoh with his twin pistols, Liz and Patty. At first viewers may not take him seriously because of his debilitating obsession, but once the fight really starts Death shows his true colors.
Stein busts in to save Maka from certain death at the hands of Crona and the demon sword Ragnarok. Though Stein has been shown fighting before, this is the first time that he is shown using a weapon—Maka's father, Spirit, no less. Stein displays his superior skills by negating several of Crona's moves that had previously given Maka a difficult time.
It's also exciting to see more intense attacks from Crona and Ragnarok. Even though Maka lost horribly to Crona before, she insists on fighting Crona again in place of Black Star. Refusing to lose again, she persuades Soul to borrow the power of the Little Demon to plunge her into madness. Enveloped in insanity, Maka becomes much stronger and fights in a similarly crazed way as Crona. This battle shows the strength of Maka and Soul's trust in each other, and watching Maka walk the wild side is a rare treat.
Mad scientist and witch researcher duke it out in this battle of adults. Since Stein and Medusa are both powerful fighters whose similarities are often highlighted throughout the series, the tension is high when they finally clash. Both of them have several tricks up their sleeves, and they are quite evenly matched.
Their battle has us itching to see who ends up on top. Maka, Black Star, and Death the Kid are on the brink of defeat, but thanks to Soul's piano playing, they manage to Soul Resonate as a team, boosting everyone's ability to the next level. We've seen them resonate during group practice, but this is the first time they're applying this technique in combat.Maka Albarn is the primary protagonist of Soul Eater and Soul's meister.
Inspired by her mother and dishearted at her father's constant cheating antics, Maka became a meister and later met Soul and make him her weapon partner, yearning to create a Death Scythe far more powerful then her father, who was Lord Death 's current weapon. Later in the series, she succeeds in making a Death Scythe and is currently a two-star Meister and a part of an elite unit known as Spartoi.
She managed to resist Arachne 's and Kishin Asura 's madness manipulation and can extend this resistance to a large group of people. Comparable to Black Star. Durability : Multi-City Block level Island level. Stamina : Large, Maka and Soul have been in many lengthy battles and haven't once had a problem with fatigue.
Range : Extended melee range normally, several meters with projectiles, planetary with Soul Perception and several soul-related abilities. Intelligence : Skilled scythe wielder on par with her mother, who is the one who turned her father into a Death Scythe.
She is also a straight A student who tries to handle each situation with efficiency. Weaknesses: According to Maka's own comments, those with a lot of direct power such as Giriko pose a problem for her to fight with. In addition, separation from her weapon can completely diminish much of her fighting capabilities considerably.
For most of her time as a meister, much of the scythe-handling to perform complex maneuvers was done by Soul's control over his weapon form.Midsommar google drive
Her Anti-Demon Wavelength and abilities stemming from it only temporarily stop Madness. Additionally, Maka is irritable and can lose her cool in combat.
Using the Black Blood abilities can risk her own sanity or even her weapon partner's own, causing her to lose access to his weapon transformation and even turn on her. Sign In Don't have an account?

Don't mean to derail the thread, just curious as to why Crona VS Ryuko is such a popular matchup. Don't quote me on that, though. I like the matchup myself, and at least with this one, it's easier to pick out who to root for at face value. Well, Elfen Lied I believe wasn't a popular matchup and yet, a character from that anime, Lucy, made it in her fight with Carnage.
That's what makes me want it just as bad as Ryuko VS Crona, admittedly.Soul Eater Ep 21 Eng Sub

Black Dragon: After absorbing a large number of human souls, Ragnarok grows wings. Mad Blood: Crona's most powerful technique. The Black Blood is highly corrosive, dissolving normal humans in an instant and has powerful madness inducing abilities, to the point that simply touching it is enough to make people lose their minds.
The blood can also solidify, trapping the souls of those it killed into a giant dome of insanity. In this form, Crona can produce enough Black Blood to create a massive tsunami capable of destroying an entire city. Screech Beta: A shockwave in the shape of a screaming mouth shot from Ragnarok's sword. Screech Alpha: Same as above but far more powerful. At its strongest, it can bisect a ship. For more info, check out our page detailing on its usage and reason. Described by Franken Stein and his Soul Perception to have an "introverted" personality, Crona is pessimistic and doesn't hold a high opinion of themselves.
This causes them to complete shut themselves down from their surroundings. Perhaps what makes Crona a dangerous enemy is their unbalance state of mind and inclination to insanity Madness mindset. This unbalanced state of mind originates from not only the influence of the Black Blood's Madness, but namely the abuse they suffered from the likes of both Ragnarok and Medusa as she drilled and tortured them into learning the ability to kill. Because of this, Crona is subjected to showing signs of insanity and aggression, spouting senseless comments and laughing at random moments This level of abuse has caused them to gain a warped objective of attempting to become an Kishin in an attempt to be able to "deal" with any given subject as well as fulfill Medusa's goal and gain not only her acceptance and love but to avoid being abandoned by their parent.
After meeting Maka and their enrollment into the DWMA, Crona stated showing more positive traits and was capable of feeling the need to protect Maka, who was previously their enemy. In a final heroic turn, Crona even opted to seal themselves with the Asura with the usage of the Black Blood and "BREW" for the sake of Maka as well as the entire world. Crona themselves possess some quirks. Due to their shy and nervous personality, Crona has a knack for naming parts of rooms such as "Roomsky Kornerkov" Mr.

Their hair is quite short with several long, large clumps, bangs straight-cut and end above the eyebrows, but do not stay very uniform. Two long pieces of hair extend from the bangs and hang low over Crona's face.
Crona's attire consists of a long black old-style robe that is tight-fitting and ends at the mid-calf level on their legs. The robe is completed with large white cuff-links at the ends of each sleeve and a tall white button-up collar at the neck. Black slipper-like shoes with a tall white cuff protruding out of the top are also worn. For formal occasions, Crona wears a white suit: the suit is very plain, with long pants, a coat with long sleeves and a collar.
The coat appears to fasten at the front and back. Crona's soul in hitomi form appears as a normal, lighly colored soul. When expanding, the soul appears in a darker tone. In the animeCrona's soul instead appears in a purple-hued color. As a child, Crona wore a black knee-high dress. The dress has a rugged cut-out at the bottom, laced with several white diamonds.
Like the present-day clothing, the childhood design also has a white collar and cuffs. The shoes stay relatively the same, as well. Crona's hair is shorter and simpler in this stage, but overall the same design. Also, Crona possessed large pupils. While official translators, FUnimation's and Yen Pressof series used male pronouns, Micah Solusod voice actor for Soul Eater confirmed the usage of male pronouns was for gender-neutral reasons, using "he" as in referring to "mankind" instead of "it", in which felt too demeaning.Crona Gorgon is a major antagonist of the Soul Eater manga and anime series.
They are shown to be the abused biological child of the Witch Medusa Gorgonand because of this, Crona is considered a tragic and insecure villain. However, after Maka Albarn comforted and cleansed Crona's soul due to her realization and understanding of the meister's pastthey became one of the main protagonists. Crona is presented with an ambiguous gender throughout the entire series. They are voiced by Maaya Sakamoto in the original Japanese version, and by Maxey Whitehead in the English dubbed version.

Black slipper-like shoes with a tall white cuff protruding out of the top are also worn. As a child, Crona wore a girly black knee-high dress. The shoes stay relatively the same, as well. Crona's hair is shorter and simpler in this stage, but overall the same design. After being "reshaped" by Medusa, Crona's attire changes to an all-black really girly robe covered by thick folds of fabric covering the feet slightly similar to Arachne's dress.

Crona is Ragnarok 's meister, and is initially under Medusa's orders and control to take any soul that they find, be it evil or good. Crona VS Shiro (Soul Eater VS Deadman Wonderland)
Crona is incredibly nervous and jumpy, and the slightest thing can make them frightened. Crona is also incredibly emotional and sensitive. After Crona becomes friends with Maka, however, Crona begins to become surer of themself, but still has difficulty making decisions.
They soon begin to distinguish the difference between good and evil. Crona is extremely negative and antipathetic, enough so that a poem Crona wrote was so abundantly depressing it made Black Star, Maka, Marie, Soul, and Sid sulk in a corner and wish they were never born though in Sid's case, he wishes he was never revived after reading it, with Crona shortly following the suite. Crona seems to want to adapt to interacting with people, but it seems hard for them to do, most likely because of Medusa's abusive treatment.
However, Crona does show signs of slowly opening up to the people around them, and becomes touched with how the others care about them, up to the point, they think that they do not deserve that much attention. Crona seems more relaxed around Maka. Unless Maka comes and fetches them, Crona normally stays in a corner of any room, and will cower in it if frightened, calling the corner "Mr. Corner" or "Roomsky Kornerkov" in the manga. Crona mostly interacts with others only when Maka is present, since Maka can easily tune in to Crona's Soul Wavelength to be understanding and calming when needed.
Crona also expresses unusual determination when it comes to helping or protecting Maka.
